How Do I keep
the birds from flying into my windows? |
|
That is a good
question and one fairly easily fixed. The birds are hitting the
window because as they're flying toward the window they are actually
seeing what is behind them. So they fly right along until they smack
right into the window. There are decals you can purchase, we have
them in the store, that can be put on your windows to help block out
the view the birds see as they fly toward the window. |

How do I keep
Squirrels out of my feeders? |
|
This is good question
and one I get asked a lot. There are tons of "squirrel proof"
feeders out there some work better than others. I like the Brome
feeders and offer them along with many others in the store. In
addition I've suggested to many of my customers to feed only
Safflower seed in the feeders the squirrels bother. As a rule
squirrels do not like safflower and will leave it alone. If it's a
feeder they've terrorized before they may still go after it, but
usually they leave it alone once they find the safflower. Of course,
the fool proof way to keep squirrels out of your feeders and feed
any kind of feed you want is to put your feeders on a pole system.
That is my favorite as I love to attract as many different types of
birds as I can. |

When should I
put my hummingbird feeders out? |
| Last year
I saw the first Ruby throated hummingbird right after the first of
April. You can check
www.hummingbirds.net and watch the hummingbirds get closer and
closer. You can even report the arrival of one in your area. Don't
put the your hummingbird feeders away too soon. The Rufus
hummingbird is known to visit our area in the fall and winter.
Wouldn't it be great to have hummingbirds all year? |
